While it doesnt look as cool as the hoverboard in Back To The Future 2, Canadian inventor Catalin Alexandru Duru and his business partner Phillippe Maalouf have tested the hoverboard concept and it can hover several feet in the air. They even plan on having it sold in retail stores.
Using propellers, the board is able to hover on both ground and water. Recently, Duru ran a record breaking flight, flying over 900ft across Lake Ouareau in Quebec.
“This is a truly mesmerising and incredible feat in the world of engineering and transportation,” said a spokesman. “It’s always pleasing to see individuals such as Catalin Alexandru Duru achieve a Guinness World Records titles such as this in which personal endeavor continues to amaze us all.”
