Rare Blue Dragon Sea Slug Washes Up In Australia

The Glaucus Atlanticus specimen is one of natures beautiful creations, with beautiful blues and strange wing like appendages.

The bizarre but beautiful creature, which normally lives day to day floating upside down on the surface of the water, prefers the warmer, tropical climates and dines on venomous creatures such as the Portuguese man-o-war.

The slug, while tiny at 3cm, possesses an extremely potent poison of its own, and even though the likelihood of it harming humans is low, it’s not advised to be manhandling the stunning little critter.

The fact that it was  washed up on shore is an unusual find, due to the rarity of the creature.

Check out the video below to see the live imagery of the beautiful and rare sea slug.
