The colorful, rich photo of its gossamery like structure was taken recently with the Hubble telescope with it’s Wide Field Camera 3, using 6 fields of view for magnification.
The colors all represent different types of gas – with hues added during post-processing – the blue representing the hottest areas.
This beautiful sight actually makes up a very tiny portion of the larger Witches Broom Nebula. Amazing, eh?
