NASA: 2032 Asteroid Impact Extremely Unlikely

It's time to ascend.

The discovery of asteroid 2013 TV135 by Ukrainian astronomers generated a little bit of apocalytic buzz, with predictions suggesting a cataclysmic impact with Earth in 2032, however NASA have released an article (titled “Asteroid 2013 TV135 – A Reality Check”) saying that chances of impact is almost nil.

The numbers according to NASA are that chances of impact are around the 1 in 63,000 mark, putting the probability of no impact at 99.998%.

According to Don Yeomans, manager of NASA’s Near-Earth Object Program Office, “This is a relatively new discovery,” he states. “With more observations, I fully expect we will be able to significantly reduce, or rule out entirely, any impact probability for the foreseeable future.”
