New Dwarf Planet found Just Beyond Pluto

It's time to ascend.

Fondly named 2014 UZ224, the new addition to our cosmic family was found by the Dark Energy Camera (DEC) in Chile, which regularly takes images of our skies as part of the Dark Energy Survey (DES), which is used for research in learning more about the dynamics of the expansion of our universe.

With a diameter of 330 miles, the new planet is much smaller than Pluto, at a distance from the Sun of 8.5 billion miles. Check out the video below:
