A number of rock paintings dating back 10,000 years have been discovered in India – with a striking resemblance to aliens and UFO’s.
The caves come under the villages of Chandeli and Gotitola, about 130km from Raipur, and appear to have rock art depicting humanoid figured in spacesuits and UFO’s. Chhattisgarh’s state department of archaeology plans on contacting NASA and ISRO to assist in research.
“The findings suggest that humans in prehistoric times may have seen or imagined beings from other planets which still create curiosity among people and researchers. Extensive research is needed for further findings. Chhattisgarh presently doesn’t have any such expert who could give clarity on the subject,” Archaeologist JR Bhagat told TOI.
What makes it even more intriguing is several locals in the villages share old beliefs and narrate stories passed down about “rohela people” – the small sized ones – beings who used to roam the skies and land in round objects on the ground, and take away 1 or 2 villagers who would not return.
“The paintings are done in natural colours that have hardly faded despite the years. The strangely carved figures are seen holding weapon-like objects and do not have clear features. Specially, the nose and mouth are missing. In few pictures, they are even shown wearing space suits. We can’t refute possibility of imagination by prehistoric men but humans usually fancy such things,” the archaeologist said.
