John Macdonald, who resides in Dysart, Fife, convinced he has taken a photo of a genuine UFO.

Macdonald, 65, claims the flying object made a sound like ‘a thousand hoovers’ all at once, and hovered over his home for several minutes before vanishing at tremendous speed.

‘It’s definitely a space craft of some sort. I don’t know whether I frightened it or not with the flash of the camera, because in the beat of a heart it was gone.’

The UFO appeared approximately 11pm last Sunday while he drove home from a friends place, and says the noise was so loud it drowned out the roar of his jeep.

While many claim it could simply be a drone, the Civil Aviation Authority said while it is possible to fly drones at night, it would be extremely difficult without having a line of sight at all times.

Mr Macdonald dismisses such criticism and believes it was a craft from another world.

I always thought there was something out there, but have never seen anything until now,’ he added. ‘There is no doubt in my mind. I know what I saw.’
